Attorney Steven R. Davis has spent more than 30 years representing individuals and families in complex medical malpractice cases. As a founding attorney of Davis & Davis, Steven has built a reputation for thorough preparation, strategic advocacy, and dedicated representation of clients and their families as they face some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Unlike many attorneys who dabble in medical malpractice law while focusing primarily on personal injury, Steven focuses his practice on medical malpractice. He has represented clients throughout Texas and across the country, handling cases from initial investigation to negotiation, and when it is beneficial for his clients, he doesn’t hesitate to take a case to trial. Known for his meticulous approach and extensive courtroom experience, Steven works to provide clients with clear guidance and strong advocacy when the stakes are at their highest.
For Steven, every case represents a person and a family, not just a legal claim. He understands the physical, financial, and emotional challenges that often follow a serious instance of medical negligence. By combining careful preparation with personal attention, he helps clients navigate the legal process while pursuing the justice and compensation they deserve.
Beyond his work with clients, Steven is highly respected among fellow trial attorneys for his leadership and commitment to advancing the practice of law. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and has contributed to the organization’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. As a faculty member for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association’s TACT College, he has taught trial lawyers throughout Texas on topics including jury selection, medical malpractice litigation, ethics, and damages.
Steven is also a sought-after speaker at legal education programs across Texas and nationwide. His presentations for organizations including the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the State Bar of Texas, the University of Texas School of Law, and other trial lawyer organizations reflect his experience in the courtroom and the respect he has earned within the legal community.
Throughout his career, Steven has received recognition for his legal skill and professional excellence. He has been selected to Texas Super Lawyers since 2011, recognized among Top Attorneys in Texas by Texas Monthly, earned the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent® rating, and named among The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers. He is also a Life Member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Steven earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Management from Baylor University before receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. His background in business and decades of litigation experience allow him to approach each case with strategic insight, careful analysis, and a commitment to achieving meaningful results for his clients.
At Davis & Davis, Steven continues to represent clients throughout Houston, across Texas, and across the country in serious medical malpractice matters. He remains committed to providing experienced counsel, personal attention, and determined advocacy for those seeking accountability after suffering harm caused by negligence.
